I was not tempted to rush right out and purchase a CD player when it first became popular. I was hesitant to do so because I was used to listening to cassette tapes. I changed my mind when I began listening to a local band that I really liked. However, their music was only available on CD. An HDTV projection system is really fantastic because it makes you feel just like being in a movie theater. If you have never experienced it, you’re certainly missing out. One of our neighbors was really kind to have my daughter and her little friends over for a night of Disney movies last weekend. They recently bought the HDTV projection and decided to entertain some kids.

I have to admit it was pretty impressive, like actually being there except that there wasn’t really any place as this was a cartoon. It’s hard to tell by looking at the projected image what the actual resolution is, but I’m sure it is quite good. It really looks every bit as good as a movie theater, with the advantage of being at home.

Then yesterday, I got an email from my friend Eric, in which he told me as soon as he installed ie7 as part of his windows updates (you get a prompt), his ie browser would no longer launch. In fact, any time ie7 was launched his computer froze.

Eric launched his alternative browser and searched for reviews of ie7 problems. He uncovered thousands of people who had posted the same problem this week. That means the ie7 problems are most likely affecting millions of people.

Getting a portable cooling system for your laptop is one of the smartest investments that you can make. Have you ever noticed how often laptops seem to fail? It has always seemed to me that a laptop computer will last only a tiny fraction of the time that a desktop will, and I never really could figure out why or how. Well, here is the reason. A laptop creates at least as much heat as a desktop, but is nowhere near as well ventilated. It overheats, which causes damage to all of the sensitive electronics inside. I would go through laptops almost once a year up until I got my Antec notebook cooler. Now, I have had the same notebook for several years running, with no problems.

I have always liked my Antec Sonata computer case. A lot of the newer cases are suffering from what I call Macintosh syndrome.
