I recently bought a laptop computer. Since I had been waiting to purchase the right one for quite a while, I saved up, planned the purchase and got myself what I believed to be the perfect laptop computer with all the goodies. It had fabulous memory, an excellent processor, enough RAM to run most varieties of games and even an in-built DVD writer. While I can’t really complain about the rest of the goodies, I do have a bone to pick with the in-built DVD writer. I realize now that I should have gone in for an external DVD writer, even if it seems like an inconvenience. For with an external DVD writer, I would not have the problems that I have been facing.

An Acer laptop computers can revolutionize your business or professional life. I am a writer, and largely self employed, so I know. For me, I hate staying at home to work amid all of the distractions of my house – there are just too many temptations to fall victim to in the home. My computer only had a 17 monitor, but it was fine for my needs. It displayed text and simple graphics well, and let me serf the internet just fine. It also fit well on my desk, and didn’t take up too much room. I remember the days when computer monitors were twelve inches and resolution was only 400 by 600 lines. Forgive me for sounding like an old timer, but sometimes just enough is plenty. At least that is what i thought until I saw the new computer monitor models. The 19 monitor may only be 2 inches bigger than the 17 monitor, but boy those two inches make a difference.

Your laptop screen might need special care. When you use the old type of monitor on a desktop computer, you could simply squirt a little window cleaner on a rag and wipe off your display. A flat laptop screen requires different care. You should never squirt any type of cleaning solution around a laptop for any reason. Particles of the spray will fall into your computer and might cause damage. You may only be able to dry dust your screen, or you may have to buy a special cleaner.  Be sure not to rub the laptop screen too hard, our you may cause some ugly pressure marks. Whatever the case may be, make sure you do as your manufacturer suggests or you may end up ruining your display and shortening the life of your laptop.

There are very few people left on this nation without a computer. Or at least that’s how it appears here in Northern Virginia. Most people I know have a couple personal computers in their home, then one at the office as well. In my house, we each have a laptop computer. I have talked to a lot of players, as well as programmers.  Many of them appreciate all of the computer game editors out there as well as the sophisticated graphic engines that allow them to play, edit, and create fantastic characters.  But at the same time, almost all of them play some of the classic arcade games of yesterday such as Warcraft Guide.  Why is this?   In part, I am sure, it is nostalgia.  Most of us grew up in the early age of computer game design.

You see, modern computer game design is based not around having good games,but having impressive graphics and big explosions.  The coders are so distant from the game but it feels like gameplay suffers such as Warcraft Gold.  It is all based on using the most advanced design tools available, so those for programming the game never get to actually interact with it. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good things about modern computer game design.  Computer game design has become a full-fledged professional field, with artists, programmers, interface designers, story borders, and all kinds of other specializations to make the most impressive games in history such as World of Warcraft Gold.  Modern computer games even have actors in them for gods sake!  But I can’t help thinking that something is been lost.
