A Program to help Missouri

In order to increase central Missouri tourism the state commissioned a software program to discover what would draw more people to Missouri. They sent out an email questionnaire to people who had recently visited the state and asked them what had drawn them to the state and what they would have liked to see while they were there. They also  added a link to their website where visitors there could rate attractions in Missouri and those in other states. As the return emails started coming in they were directed to one large database where they were parsed and categorized. The answers from the questionnaire on the website were fed directly into the same database. Once the reports were generated the tourism board could view the results and make the appropriate decisions on weather to build new attractions, update attractions already there, a combination of both, or just spend their money on more advertising. The results were a bit surprising. It showed that they only needed minimal improvement on current sites, almost no new attractions would be beneficial, and that they really didn’t need to spend more  on advertising, they just needed to advertise in different venues. It was well worth the cost of having the program built.
