Using MS Word to write the Missouri tourism guide
One of my previous jobs was inputting information into the correct format to make a Missouri tourism guide that was going to be distributed all over the state. The demands for perfection where overwhelming so we decided on a strategy of using the latest up to date programs that had automatic error detection/correction. That was my first experience with using Microsoft word and I was impressed. I’m not the best speller in the world but Word didn’t complain to me at all. Every time I misspelled something it would underline it in red. When that happened I would simply right click on the word and it would give me options for correct spellings. It was just a simple click, click and the word was fixed. Occasionally it would fix words on the fly with no interaction from me. That worked well about ninety eight percent of the time but occasionally it would correct the spelling to a word that was different than what I wanted. Then I would have to go back and delete and retype that word. I admit that wasn’t really the programs fault, it usually happened when I accidently hit the wrong key. Everybody has fat fingers occasionally.
