WoW Rogue Tips - Improve Your Lockpicking Skill
As a Rogue in the World of Warcraft you have a unique skill: lockpicking. Engineers can blow the locks to bits, but only you can pick them. This provides you with a unique place of honor and respect in the WoW community.
Such as when you get those tells, “Hey you, can you open this box for me?”
Seriously though, those boxes contain interesting items and some doors to instances require lockpicking or special keys as do some of the boxes inside those instances. People will need you to get those items.
Tip #1: Pickpocket all humanoids: Ogres, humans, dwarves, Centaurs, Naga, Undead (Ghosts have pockets? Yep. So do rotting zombies, blech) etc. They’ll drop boxes full of the stuff you need for your poisons. The higher the mob the higher the level of lockpicking needed to open the box.
Keep doing the pickpocket thing and you may only rarely have to do side trips to find footlockers or pickable doors. Here’s a more complete Rogue Lockpicking Guide if you need a little more what and where.
By the way, those footlockers sometimes contain nice items. Pick them whenever you see them. You’ll find food items (yawn) and the occasional green item (cool) and every once in awhile some other nice things.
