Computer software can be significantly helpful if your work on a PC or Mac all day. Of course, chances are it’s a PC, since that’s all I typically encounter out there in the corporate world. Bill Gates is certainly running the show with his Microsoft software. It’s safe to say that it’s on virtually every computer around now days. Even we Mac users have Windows XP and other applications to take advantage of now. I for one, typically use Microsoft Word on a daily basis. I often need to write articles and essays for work. Furthermore, it’s not uncommon for me to have to create pdf files. This a simple way to present resumes, documents, brochures, books, and even short stories to others.

The Vanishing Black Male, a documentary feature, premiered in New York and New Jersey the end of 2005. Since then, this movie that explores why African American women outnumber their men in such large numbers, has been creating a lot of discussion. Syndicated movie critic Kam Williams has cited the movie as being the best Black documentary of 2005 and its director, Hisani DuBose, the best director.

As a people, we seem to be more enthralled with hardware than software but this little Dragon is worth a look. I use Dragon software to draft and edit documents, write emails, and much more. It is very user friendly and I regularly receive product support info and update alerts from the Dragon software people. The software costs about fifty bucks and it definitely worth the cost. I think that Dragon software pays for itself quickly with all of the time that it saves the user not to mention the headaches that can come with too much time in front of a computer screen.

Fortunately, someone clever came along and realized that since most computers have at least one USB (universal serial bus) port, why not make some sort of storage device which attaches to computers through a USB port?  The memory stick was born.

My dear friend, Marcus Riley, sent me a CD recently, full of punk rock songs he had mixed himself on his personal computer. I was expecting a CD full of music that sounded hacked together since he did not create the CD on professional equipment. However, I was surprised by the quality he was able to achieve utilizing his individual music editing software.

CD ripper software will open up an entirely new way of how you listen to music. So as an amateur digital photography person, I noticed that their are lots of other accessories and peripherals one needs as they delve into the world of digital image taking. For example, on top of having to buy several high end memory cards, I also had to start updating my laptop with some cheap laptop memory.

All in all, this new hobby of mine certainly is taking it’s toll on my bank account, though not by a large stretch. I think it’s worth it in the end because I can now not only enjoy editing high end pictures and perhaps creating slide shows out of them on my laptop, but with the increased cheap laptop memory, I find that I can run all my other applications a lot faster- which is a good thing.

You can go out and buy a new computer, or you can get a memory upgrade for your present machine. A memory upgrade often does the trick for older computers that work very well, but have a hard time keeping up with large files. A memory upgrade will greatly increase the speed in which your computer can download or upload large photos, video files, or music files from the Internet. You can add as little or as much memory as you need. Unless you are a computer professional, you may want to take your computer to someone to add the memory for you, rather than trying to install it yourself.

If you are like me then you are probably oblivious to how incredible
eBay really is. I have been using the site for several years, almost
since the beginning. I wish I had had the foresight to buy some of
their stock, but that’s another story. What I do get a kick out of is
the fact that I can buy and sell and do business with people all over
the world from my home computer. Who would have thought that would even
be possible for the average person as recently as ten or fifteen years
ago? The way that eBay is set up by categories and the search engine
that is used to help you find items is just incredible. You will
stumble on things that you want without even directly looking for them.
