The benefits of quitting smoking are pretty intuitive, but the American Cancer Society would like you to be aware of just how many benefits there are. And while scientific research technically can’t prove that smoking causes cancer and overall bad health, everybody knows that it’s true because it’s a matter of common sense and more than just mere coincidence that smoking is strongly associated with developing cancer. But even if we know that it’s better to quit smoking, that doesn’t mean that it’s so easy to.

The reason it’s so hard to quit smoking is because of the addictive properties of nicotine. People can develop a physical or a psychological addiction to a drug, and with tobacco, they find themselves craving nicotine and developing an emotional dependence on it.

At first, smoking gives people a high as the brain responds to the nicotine, but over time the body becomes accustomed to it and it needs higher and higher levels to achieve the same high that it used to at a lower level. They may also experience negative effects of withdrawal like headaches, shaking and insomnia, so smokers start to increase the amount that they smoke and it eventually becomes an addiction.

This Economic Environment is Great for Banks Issuing Bad Credit Cards

The credit cards in our life have gone haywire - they hit us with inexplicable fees, the interest rates are going through the roof, they are cutting our spending limits, and there no rewards either. Even if you haven’t looked closely at your credit card bills these past few months, you can be sure that your credit card deal just got quite grim. If it isn’t obvious yet, this is no longer a buyer’s market. All of this may not really put you in the mood to count your blessings; but whatever raw deal your bank just handed to you, you can be sure that there are people out there with bad credit cards and contracts that make your bank look like Santa Claus. Let’s look at some of these winners.

Let’s start with subprime cards; First Premier Bank’s Centennial Gold card gives bad credit cards a bad name. They charge you nearly $30 to set up an account, they slap on nearly $100 for what they call a program fee, there is an annual fee, and you need to pay a servicing fee that’s about $100 a year too. You actually owe more in all these startups fees than the average credit limit the first month. All this changes with the new credit card law though, starting February. They won’t be able to charge you fees higher than 25% of your credit limit.

Debt collectors are a real PITA. If you don’t believe me, ask anyone; no one can think of a profession that could be worse than being a debt collector. But that was before the economic slowdown and everyone’s business went belly up. Debt collectors are a whole new animal now, and they engage in practices that would make a hatchet guy blush. Of all the complaints that the Federal Trade Commission answers, a good part now is from people who are being chased by debt collectors and having their credit scores wrecked, for loans they never owed, or have paid back already. If that is what the debt-free get to experience, you might well imagine what is in store for you if you actually owe something. The banks and other financial institutions are so short of money, that they feel decency and a little thing called the law are temporarily expendable. So how is it that they go after the wrong people?

The country has a huge backlog of old debts that barely anyone seems to remember much about. The financial institutions just collect them all together, and sell them over to the highest bidder. There isn’t enough documentation or anything for these loans; the buyers just do some intelligent (or not so intelligent) guessing to find the people they think they are after. It is kind of like in the first Terminator movie; the Terminator goes after anyone named Sarah Connor.

This is one of the quickest and easiest meatloaf recipes I know of. No, it’s not a meatloaf recipe made with Lipton onion soup either. It’s a bit more work than that and has a better taste. I’ve been cooking with ground beef (it’s hamburger where I come from) all of my life and most recipes I have in my head I know who taught me to make them. This meatloaf recipe is different and I have no clue where I learned to make it.

For this meatloaf recipe you need to pay a little attention to the details. It will taste okay if you don’t but it will be better if you get the onion chopped really fine and the crackers crushed up fine, too. No big chunks of onion or crackers in this ground beef. It’s still one of the simpler recipes tho.

Before you start doing anything set the oven to 350 degrees and let it warm up while you are putting the ingredients for the meatloaf together.

The power of mind features many different aspects, and it can be a challenge to keep them straight at times. Clairvoyance is often confused with precognition, but is more along the lines of remote viewing. This article about crappie fishing techniques is about one of the crappie fishing tricks I learned one day while fishing walleyes. It was nice to get into some decent crappies but I’d have never used this technique to catch crappies until it worked the first time. It was accidental crappie catching, for sure, but I’ve used it a few times since, with success best in the late fall.

My dad and I kept pretty good track of where we caught fish and what time of year it was when we caught them. My grandfather did the same thing with my dad. It does make catching fish a bit easier if someone has established where the fish are going to be and when, over a long period of time.

This time it was the right time to go fish walleyes from shore and that’s where we headed. Middle of fall and we knew if we used 3 1/2 - 4 inch suckers with a spinner and a slip bobber, suspend about 1 foot off the bottom, we could catch some decent walleyes.

Easy ground beef recipes are my favorite accomplishment. Lol, for me they are simple as I like ground beef more than most everything else. If I had to choose one food it would be ground beef as it’s tasty and it’s so easy to blend it in with different things.

While I’m not a formally trained chef I have been cooking my own food for over 55 years. My grandmother started teaching me to cook at age 4 and the first thing she taught me was to fry a hamburger on the stove. I stood on a chair to flip the burgers and I learned to stay away from spattering grease. Cheeseburgers are my favorite meal.

I love easy recipes made with hamburger and a dinner made with ground beef and potatos almost guarantees I’ll show up to eat. I make a hamburger potato casserole that practically guarantees I’ll over eat. Hamburger casserole recipes are some of the easiest things there are to make.
