Double Anti-Spy Professional Software Protects PC’s

A misconception about spyware is that it spreads from computer to computer in much the same way as a virus–which is to say, through e-mail or communication between computers. Instead, spyware is typically installed through deception, as spyware producers tack their programs onto legitimate files which are then run in tandem when the user activates the legitimate file. Spyware can also be found on the net, as certain sites have been set up to exploit browser vulnerabilities and force the download of spyware on users who don’t realize their computer is downloading the file. Note that Internet Explorer is extremely vulnerable to these attacks, although Microsoft has recently made an effort to curb the vulnerable reputation of their browser. Regardless, I recommend using a different browser with less susceptibility to spyware and script attacks, such as Firefox, Opera, Safari, or Google Chrome. For even more protection, install an adblocker–”Adblock Plus” for Firefox, “Adblock” for Chrome; one can block ads on Opera manually or by downloading block-lists, though nothing similar to the extensions listed for Firefox and Chrome exist at this time for Opera to my knowledge. Safari has an adblocker for download, though I have no experience with it.

Browser Poisoning - Your New Threat to WiFi Security

WiFi hotspots are really cherished spaces these days; if a coffee shop, an airport, doesn’t have one, or if it isn’t good enough or fast enough, you’d think about changing your custom or picking a different airport. But hotspots are public networks, and the kind of threats they pose to your computer as you innocently log on, are really serious ones, and they multiply by the day. One of the newest ways WiFi security can be threatened, is through browser poisoning. That’s when another user on the hotspot hacks into your computer and changes the settings on your browser so that he can put before you a fake webpage, that sends him information.

It is actually very simple for an experienced hacker on a WiFi or 802.11 network; browsers use a JavaScript file, that is terribly easy prey. Something called a JavaScript cache control header is a permanent part of your browser, and can be infected so that everywhere you open the computer, long after you’ve left a hotspot, your information no longer belongs to you. The hacker can, through the Internet, remotely walk in and out of your computer, and any network your computer is connected to as he pleases. They call this browser-cache poisoning; every time you ask for a specific website, the attacker can, over the Internet, send you an alternative one. The very URL you visit can become poisoned on that particular computer. Alternatively, they can steal all your information whenever you happen to be on a VPN. But there is a cure, if you actually recognize that you are under attack. The poisoned browser cache, has just to be emptied, and the problem disappears. The procedure of how you do this is not always the same on every browser, and sometimes, people just lose their way and give up.

The solution for now, is to keep your high security company laptop untainted by outside WiFi networks. This plaan could work if companies could prohibit users from ever connecting the laptop outside of the company network. Of course, it isn’t going to win the management any popularity contests this way. The Black hat security conference in January, had plenty of insights of this kind this year. And they came down really heavily on all things Adobe Flash. So how exactly does browser cache poisoning work? When you visit a website, your browser routinely tries to store a few parts of the website away in its cache, to help speed things up the next time you come over. So here is this folder that the browser can store things in. There is nothing that stops an attacker from storing things in there too. Once that is done, your browser will read the cache the next time you visit that website, read the malicious software that the attacker placed there, and head off on a tangent.

But since there is a simple solution to it, in clearing your cache every time you leave a public hotspot, your WiFi security should still be somewhat safe on.

Home security equipment for a safer home

Do you ever think about home security equipment? You should because there comes a time in everyone’s life when you begin to question your safety. Most likely this is triggered by something you witnessed first-hand, or maybe a current even you saw on the local news. Either way it shocked you. It caused you to stop and re-examine life. Suddenly you feel a bit more vulnerable than you did before and that lead your thoughts to your security.

This is not a feeling any of us like or appreciate. It invokes fear and alerts us to the dangers of our environment. Now, this is not exactly a bad thing. If you ask me, it’s wonderful. We need to know that we’re not invulnerable to harm and death. Knowing this encourages us to take precautions and be wary of our everyday surroundings. That security equipment that you once thought to be ridiculous and over-the-top is now looking more necessary.

Security systems and security cameras

Security systems are available to protect practically everything these days. There are security systems to protect houses, businesses, cars, boats, motorcycles, computers and everything else you can think of. Even kids use security systems without realizing it as a bike lock is a simple security system.

Besides all of the things that can be protected with a security system there are sub categories within each system. Take a look at home security as an example. There are a ton of security firms that will provide your house with monitored security. Then under that there are more categories, burglar alarms, lighting systems, intrusion detection and more. It can be hard to decide just exactly what security system you need.

Security cameras are almost becoming a must have as crime and theft continues to grow, the need for security increases as well. Although security personnel are a must have, businesses need another form of security that isn’t quite as noticeable. Most crooks can spot an individual without a problem, which is where security cameras come into play.

Security cameras are becoming very popular these days and they come in many shapes and sizes. The wired types can fit in speakers, clocks, and even smoke detectors. The wireless cameras are far more flexible and can be placed nearly anywhere. Wireless security systems are a great addition to any home or business, as they can be placed in areas that a thief wouldn’t even begin to suspect.

A Secure Network For A Small Business Is No Small Matter

Small businesses normally have a small network staff, perhaps a well-rounded computer person who seems to know about every aspect of computing and networks, someone to whom you can entrust your system, and your network security. If you’re such a person, or in charge of such a person or small IT staff, you’ll want to be certain that your network is truly protected.

The reasons are obvious: information theft and software corruption. This is especially important if your systems are exposed to the internet, which, of course, most are. There is an abundance of infiltrators out there trying to get into your data, maybe into your accounting system or bank accounts. Then there’s the possibility of identity theft, the theft of your employees social security numbers, for instance. These infiltrators are ingenious and are constantly seeking new ways to get in. They know that a small business, probably not having a person or unit solely dedicated to network security, is the easier target among businesses. They know that most small businesses buy ready-made network systems, systems that you or your staff may be competent to install, but not necessarily competent to secure. A small business is prime pickings.

Networked systems out-of-the-box will claim security is guaranteed because getting into the system requires a password. Did you know that there are programs that can figure out your passwords? These run at terrific speeds, trying every possible combination of characters, starting with those most often used. Your best bet is to enforce a password policy that requires some odd combination of characters. For instance, you could require all passwords to have at least one numeral in them. You could also require lengthy passwords. These take a lot longer to crack. There is also the normal protection of allowing a user only three tries before breaking connection. The cracker has to keep re-connecting to try new combinations. It’s a good policy if you want passwords an be and effective network security technique.

A common security hole in small businesses is the trust you must place in your employees. Sure, they’re okay when you’re paying them, but after they leave, well, watch out for some of them at least. Security is constantly compromised by ex-employees who have taken passwords with them. They are able to get into your systems in a variety of ways, or they can simply let others know how to get into them. When an employee leaves, as that employee is walking out the door, this access should be stopped, his passwords changed, or his account(s) removed. Don’t forget to cut off email access as well.

Small business network security also means that you’ve configured your systems when they are installed. Most out-of-the-package systems come with all doors open, especially firewalls. Be forward-looking: to hire a systems person who has a good knowledge of firewalls. Don’t trust the vendors assurance. Close those doors.

Also, make sure you, or your staff, is doing everything to prevent virus infection. It’s an epidemic! About 1200 new ones come up every month; your installed anti-virus software may not recognize them. Keep anti-virus software up to date, limit downloading, and layer your security so that each layer, network and LAN, email and individual workstations, have anti-virus software.

Because network security is so important to your business, and there are other considerations, strategies, and techniques to secure your network, perhaps the best approach is to find a good network security consultant, have them study out your systems, and provide recommendations. They may be worth the cost, but if they’re any good, you’ll never know it, because you wont have a security breach. Ironic.

Video surveillance and video security

Though video security systems in many homes and businesses are very good there are times when they don’t seem like they are enough. Many people don’t want to move due to crime, and they have to find new ways to protect their family. Some like to add video security cameras to their systems. Though this will not stop someone in some cases, it does make it much easier to identify and prosecute them in the future. It will depend on what type you get.

Video cameras the size of postage stamps can be procured for under $100, and will certainly become even smaller and cheaper. If you get video security cameras that are hidden, they won’t be a deterrent, though they will do the job of recording what is going on.

If you’re interested in home video surveillance of your house you should know that it is a very good way to document what’s happening in and around your home. While home video surveillance may not keep your house from being broken into it will aid in convicting the people who broke in. Putting up a sign saying your house uses video surveillance may be a deterrant to some.

When they were first introduced, video surveillance systems were mostly used with medium to large businesses. These days however, they are becoming more and more common in homes. Video surveillance security systems are also known as Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) and are used to monitor certain areas around the home and help to protect it from burglars and thieves.

Wireless security surveillance cameras information

Wireless security is something you need to think about as it seems everything is going wireless now days. This is very convenient but it does bring up wireless security issues about the safety and security of personal information. Some thieves like to break into wireless networks in order to get information that may allow your identity to be stolen or to simply drain all of the money in your accounts. This is why anyone using this technology should give some serious thought to wireless security.

Surveillance cameras are everywhere now. It doesn’t seem as though people understand this little fact of life. Surveillance cameras video seems to show up on the news every night. Even with signs on the buildings saying surveillance cameras in use, the dummies still think they aren’t going to get caught. It makes you wonder if people think they are invisible.

If you watch Criminal Minds or CSI-Vegas or a lot of other shows you can see them following suspects from one camera to the next. This is another thing people don’t believe about surveillance cameras but it’s also true. Big brother is here and the cameras are his main tool. Why pay full price when you can get wholesale burglar alarm systems? Do you feel that your simple door sensors are not just enough to make you feel secure against thieves? The problem is home safety and security are getting harder and harder to maintain. There are just to many threats to both our security and our safety. So many that it’s hard for most people to keep up with the latest developments. Sure, everyone wants to be secure or safe or both but they don’t know where to start. This website will help you with that.

Burglar Alarm Companies and Residential Security Systems

Security alarm companies or a burglar alarm company is something you should consider for your home or business. When it comes to protecting your home, you want to make sure you check with all of the security alarm companies in your area to see who can give you the best deal, and then you want to find out how reliable they are, and if there have been any complaints lodged against the company. Most burglar alarm companies have a good reputation, or they would be now out of business. People don’t mess around when it comes to protecting their homes and their businesses with a burglar alarm company. Just remember that the alarm company you choose may become a very big part of your life.

Residential security is the same as saying home security, to most people. I would expect someone selling residential security to be an expert in that field and not an expert in office security. I’m curious what people think about when they see “Home Security” because it makes me think of a single family house. Residential security makes me think of apartments for some reason.

No matter what you call it, home or residential security, we all want it and are willing to pay for it. Everyone wants to feel safe in their home or residence. So what’s different about residential security systems versus home security. Not a thing as far as I can tell. I suspect it’s an advertising thing and one phrase appeals to some customers and the other to different customers.

Burglar Alarm Systems

Alarms systems of one type or another have almost become a necessity for safety and security at home. THere are many different kinds of alarm systems to choose from. Which alarm system you choose depends on what your biggest fear is or what the largest danger to your safety or security is. You can also get vehicle alarms that work very well.

Alarms systems can be either wireless or hard wired. If you’re building a new house you should consider having the alarm systems be hard wired. However be aware that you will need a battery backup for the wired systems. If the power goes off for some reason and you don’t have a battery backup for the alarms you won’t be protected. That’s the biggest drawback with wired systems and the one thing most people don’t do. Always, always have a battery backup.

If you’re confused by burglar alarm systems or don’t know why you might benefit from having a security company install some type of burglar alarm system for you and your families protection you should read this short article as it will give you some great information on security alarms.

A home is the most valuable property for a lot of people. However, a common home doesn’t typically feature drawbridges, ramparts, moats, and thick walls of stones which will serve as primary defenses from unwanted visitors. So, it’s much better if you could make your home safe and secure with devices with fewer features yet just as effective.

Best Internet Security Software

The best internet security software, in my opinion, is the software that gets the job done the way you want it to be done. What follows are some facts about the Internet and the software you can use for keeping your computer safe and secure. Which is the best software for internet security is open to debate but the facts below should give you some help in figuring out which will wok best for your needs.

You are fortunate to live in the ‘Cyber Age’ when the Internet is every where. The Internet, which is initially a valuable information resource tool, offers several benefits to other applications. The operation of different national governments around the world had never been easy without the Internet. The traditional courier services are now replaced by fast and reliable electronic mail. Banking is not just confined within the four walls of a bank, you can now monitor your deposits as well as make transactions using your bank account with the online banking services. Business are alive 24/7, thanks to the Internet.

Yes, free internet security software can be found and some of the software is really very good at protecting your computer. OTOH some of the free security software found on the internet is nothing but junk so do your research before you install any free internet security software.

Surfing the internet nowadays can be very dangerous. With all the viruses, spywares, adwares, identity thieves and hackers circulating for surfers to victimize, opening and downloading an attachment sent by your friend can be very scary.

This is why internet security is a necessity in all computers to prevent yourself from getting victimized by people who wants to steal from you or from viruses programmed to destroy your important files.

Home security and flash cookies information for you

Flash cookies, do you know about them? You know about regular cookies or at least you should by now. They been a topic of concern for years. A cookie is just a piece of data stored on your hard drive in a defined location. Windows lets you control the use of regular cookies and even what cookies you choose to accept. For the most part these flash cookies are easy to get rid of.

What you may not know is there are things called “Flash Cookies” which are stored on your hard drive in a different location from regular cookies. Are flash cookies dangerous? I’ll let you decide for yourself but I feel they can be very dangerous.

Home security is a personal responsibility and home security is something you should think about when buying your house. You consider the neighborhood because you want to live in a safe and secure neighborhood but few people consider home security beyond that when buying a house.

Most new home owners don’t think much about security until they move into the house. Most loans require the house to be insured and that covers you if someone gets hurt on your property or something gets stolen but it is not home security. Your home owners insurance generally comes into effect after you’ve been robbed, not before. Home owners insurance is not security against being robbed or hurt in your own home.

Computer internet security and zone alarm security

Within days after the WWW portion of the internet became active computer internet security became a necessity. Probably faster than that as the other parts of the internet existed before the WWW part came into being. Here is some computer internet security information you need to know to protect your computer.

Using your computer and a reliable Internet connection can be the best combination for a business opportunity. You don’t need raise too much capital for your business venture. With just a reliable Internet connection and computer system, you will be able to start your business right away and earn hundreds to thousands of dollars every month.

Never forget to prioritize the protection of your computer system from unauthorized use and data theft. Contrary to the popular belief that a small-size Internet business will make them safe from data hackers and online intruders, there is also a great risk and danger involved once you neglect to protect your computer system. Most small-time Internet entrepreneurs are blinded by the fact that they are not exempt from these data thieves.

The Zone Alarm internet security suite is on of the best around and gets high marks. When you surf the internet or download files from it, there is a chance that someone may be watching your every move in your computer. Every key you press in your keyboard and every click of the mouse are recorded without you knowing about it. It could be anyone, and it could be someone from halfway around the world who has invaded your computer with a particular software called spyware.

Spyware may look harmless but what if you use your computer for purchasing goods over the internet? You will be typing your credit card information and personal information in order to purchase something over the internet. The thought of someone using your account without you knowing about it can make you cringe.

Internet security software

Internet security is important because in today’s world the internet is one of the most popular tools that you can use to buy goods and services. It is considered as one of the most useful tools that people make use of. The internet have proved to be a very good venue that you can use for communication and with this, you can now purchase goods and services from the companies you can find in the internet today.

The internet is also a great tool to start your own online business and make transactions. With the fast and cheap communication that the internet provides you definitely want to get connected in the internet to make money, save money or make life easier for you but you can never forget about internet security.

With all the advantages of the internet there are also disadvantages. Because financial dealings are done on a daily basis millions or even billions of dollars are being exchanged on the internet everyday. This spawned a new group of criminals that would do anything to steal money from you by just using the internet.

If you aren’t running any security software I highly recommend you read the following. If you are running security software and want to know more about it’s capabilitites and limitations, read on.

Security software is not yet able to assist people in identifying phishing scams and advance fee fraud (Nigerian scams) effectively. For this reason it’s very important for Internet users to be able to identify online fraud without relying on software that doesn’t detect the fraud. Security software is good but you must understand that it will never be perfect.

Security software is generally pretty easy to manage and you don’t need to be a computer geek to manage it. Most security programs provide a dashboard that can provide information about what software programs are running, if updates are set to auto and when the last update actually happened.

Solve these ActiveX problems now

ActiveX problems with security sprung from the first design of the inserted objects.

Initially designed to run applications on a single PC, the safety features weren’t given much consideration. When the technology was however adopted to share objects across numerous applications and platform, the safety weakness turned into a real issue to say with.

To solve these ActiveX problems, Microsoft has developed an ActiveX objects registration system that determines and authenticates ActiveX objects before downloading them on the Computer.

Internet Explorer seven and Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack two have also had their security features augmented to reduce threats linked with that problem.

Home safety and security alarm monitoring system

Safety and security is important for everyone. Home security, home safety, PC security, on line safety, personal, vehicle and the list just keeps going. Everyone of us is interested in safety and security. Even homeless people are interested in safety and security.

The problem is home safety and security are getting harder and harder to maintain. There are just to many threats to both our security and our safety. So many that it’s hard for most people to keep up with the latest developments. Sure, everyone wants to be secure or safe or both but they don’t know where to start. This website will help you with that.

An alarm monitoring system is probably the best way to go when installing an alarm system. With alarm monitoring when something triggers an alarm the company monitoring the alarm will be notified and can find out in seconds what the problem is. Alarm monitoring can be a good choice because it leaves you less to worry about..

Alarm systems can either be hardwired or wireless. The wired systems are usually used with sensors, smoke detectors for example, which demand power for reliable operation. Wired types come with the advantage of detecting tampering. However, wired systems are expensive to install.

Wireless alarm systems are easier to set-up. Instead of wires, they utilize transmitters. Wireless systems require constant supervision and maintenance to ensure efficient operation. If for example, the sensors or batteries have not been constantly checked, the system may not perform at its peak. However most monitored systems are capable of letting you know there is a problem with sensors or batteries.

Home Security Alarm

Camera security systems are available all over the place. I spent three years working in my best friend’s restaurant. With a variety of shady customers popping in and out, it was certainly hard to keep up with what was going on.

He soon invested in camera security systems to keep a much closer eye on his patrons and employees. This paid off one night. As we were closing up the store, a final customer came in to place a quick order. Without warning, he pulled a gun and demanded all of the cash from the till.

We complied, but he didn’t know that he was being filmed. This paid off the very same night. The local police nabbed him only blocks away. Because of the camera security system, the restaurant didn’t lose and money.
